In Round 2 of the NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks selected RB Zach Charbonnet out of UCLA. This pick surprised many people since they had just drafted RB Kenneth Walker last year. This leads us to think: Can Charbonnet take over the Seahawks RB1 role?
Charbonnet has everything you want in a RB. He is a power back, but still can be elusive when needed. He could definetely start if Seattle wanted him to.Now, back to Kenneth Walker. Walker had a very productive rookie year, finishing second in ROTY voting. So, why would Seattle draft Charbonnet if they already had Walker? Walker did have some trouble staying healthy last year, so Charbonnet definetely gives the Seahawks quality depth at the position. When Walker had gone out last year, Seattle really had issues establishing the run game. So, Charbonnet definetely sures that up. But here is the real question: Should Charbonnet start for Seattle and is he good enough?
To answer that question, yes, he is definetely good enough to be a RB1. But, will Seattle start him? Likely not. After Walker's rookie year, there is really no reason to slow him down. Charbonnet will get touches, just not starting RB touches.
