The NFL regular season is finally here, so it's time to do my favorite article of the year. Here is my hot take for every NFL team in the upcoming season.
Seahawks- Seahawks have a top 10 defense
My hot take for the Seahawks is that they will have a top 10 defense by the end of the year. They will have a deadly secondary with Witherspoon, Woolen, Bryant, Love, Adams, and Diggs. Dre'Mont Jones was a great addition to sure up the defensive line. If everything goes right, this Seahawks defense could be the L.O.B. 2.0.
49ers- Aiyuk becomes the WR1 by the end of the year
My hot take for the 49ers is that Aiyuk will be the WR1 by the end of the year. In my opinion, Aiyuk is more talented than Deebo. With Purdy starting for the full year, I think Aiyuk could definitely become his favorite target . I could definitely see him with the WR1 role by the end of the year.
Rams- Stetson Bennett is the starter by the end of the year
My hot take for the Rams is that Stetson Bennett will be the starter by the end of the year. At first, it seems crazy. But, Stafford was not healthy at all last year, and I think he will struggle this year. Bennett looked great and I think he will start by the end of the year.
Cardinals- The Cardinals don’t end up with the Number 1 pick
My hot take for the Cardinals is that they won't have the first pick in the draft. Don't get me wrong, they will be horrible. But, I do see them getting a few wins this season.
Eagles- The Eagles make the Super Bowl, but fall short yet again
For the Eagles, I have them having a pretty similar season to last year. They will have the Number 1 seed and make the Super Bowl. But, yet again, they will lose the Super Bowl in a heartbreaking fashion.
Cowboys- The Cowboys miss the playoffs and finish under .500
My hot take for the Cowboys is a surprising one. I have them finishing under .500 and missing out on the postseason. Dak Prescott is good, but he throws way too many picks. Especially with the added pressure of Trey Lance, I think Prescott will collapse and have a horrible year.
Giants- Darren Waller is considered a Top 3 TE after this year
My hot take for the Giants is that Darren Waller will be considered a Top 3 TE by the end of the year. The Giants will use him a lot, so don't be surprised when he gets a crazy amount of yards.
Commanders- The season starts of rough, but by the end of the season Howell solidifies himself as the franchise QB
This one may seem wild to some, but hear me out. Howell is that guy. This will be his first full year starting, so it's likely going to start out rough. But, by around Week 10, you will see lots of improvement. By Week 18, he will solidify himself as the franchise QB and the future of Washington.
Saints- Derek Carr and Chris Olave solidify themselves as a top 10 QB-WR duo
For the Saints, I think Carr and Olave will be a top 10 QB-WR due at the end of the year. Olave will finally have a great QB, and Carr will have a reliable target. Don't be surprised when they are being thrown in the discussion for one of the best duos.
Falcons - Bijan Robinson goes off and is considered the best RB in the league
This one may be surprising to some, but if you spend the #8 pick on a RB, you are definitely going to use him a lot. Bijan looked great in preseason and even better in training camp. I would be surprised if he is not considered one of the top RB's by the end of the year.
Panthers- Jonathon Mingo is the WR1 by the end of the year
My hot take for the Panthers is that Jonathon Mingo is the WR1 by the end of the year. Mingo is going into the year as the WR3, so he will definitely get a chance to prove himself in game. In addition to this, the Young-Mingo connection looked great at camp.
Buccaneers - The Buccaneers end up with the Number 1 Pick
My hot take for the Bucs is that they will have the number 1 pick. Baker will not break out in Tampa Bay and Trask will eventually take over. Overall, this year will be a disaster for them.
Lions- Jahmyr Gibbs has the most receiving yards among RB's
My hot take for the Lions is that Gibbs will lead the league in receiving yards(among RBs). The Lions will pass a lot this year, and Goff throw it to Gibbs a whole lot. Don't be surprised when Gibbs gets an abnormal amount of receiving yards among RBs.
Vikings - The Vikings have the worst running offense in the league
For the Vikings, I think they will have the worst running offense in the league. Mattison is not a 3 down back, and he won't be able to handle a heavy workload. As it is, the Vikings are a pass first offense. Their running game will be atrocious.
Packers- Jordan Love proves he is the franchise QB in Green Bay
For the Packers, I have Jordan Love proving he is the guy in Green Bay. He may not start off hot, but he will find his groove by the end of the year.
Bears- Justin Fields has a great season on the ground, but still struggles in the passing game.
For the Bears, I don't think Justin Fields will take a massive leap. He will still put up great rushing numbers, but he will struggle in the passing game.
Chiefs- The Chiefs get knocked out in the Divisional Round
For the Chiefs, I think they will get knocked out in the divisional round. Mahomes will play great like always, but without Chris Jones, the defense will struggle.
Raiders- Aiden O'Connell is the starter by the end of the year
For the Raiders, I think Aiden O'Connell will start by the end of the year. Jimmy G is not going to have a great year, and O'Connell looked promising in preseason. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they decided to start O'Connell later in the year.
Chargers- The Chargers make it to the playoffs, but again, lose in the Wildcard Round.
My hot take for the Chargers is that they will make the playoffs, but lose in the Wildcard Round. Many people have high hopes for this team. I don't. They will choke in the Wildcard Round, just like they always do.
Broncos - Russell Wilson improves, but the Broncos still miss a playoff spot due to the stacked AFC
For the Broncos, I have them missing the playoffs despite Russell Wilson playing well. Sean Payton will definitely make Russell better, but I still think the AFC will end up being too good for them.
Bengals- The Bengals finally win the Super Bowl
For the Bengals, I have them finally winning the Lombardi. Burrow will have another phenomenal year and the defense will improve. This is their year.
Steelers- Pickett has an amazing year and the Steelers finish with 10 wins
For the Steelers, I think they will have a phenomenal year. Pickens looks like he could have a monster year, and Pickett continues to improve. Don't be surprised if the Steelers make a run.
Browns- Watson improves but the browns still finish just below .500
For the Browns, I think Watson will show flashes of his old self, but he won't be consistent. This causes them to finish just under .500.
Ravens- OBJ has a horrible year and Andrews and Flowers both finish with way more receiving yards
For the Ravens, I think OBJ will have a horrible year. Im going to be honest- I just don't see him sustaining an important role in this offense. Flowers and Andrews will both be better, and OBJ will not be important to this team when it comes to production of the offense.
Bills - The Bills have an underwhelming season and get knocked out in the Divisional Round
For the Bills, I think they will have an underwhelming season. They are not getting any better, and everyone else in their division is. I think they will struggle, and end up losing in the divisional round (if they make it there!).
Jets- The Jets win the AFC East
Yes, I'm buying into the hype. At this point, it's Super Bowl or bust. I think Rodgers will have a phenomenal year, and so will the defense. This Jets team is going to be very scary.
Dolphins- Tua starts out great but severely struggles towards the end of the year
The Dolphins have a great roster, but the ultimate factor is going to be Tua. I think Tua will start off well, but will ultimately struggle towards the end of the year.
Patriots- Mac Jones is not the starter by the end of the year
For the Patriots, I think Mac Jones will be benched by Week 18. Now, I don't know who will replace him. There are many options. Ultimately, they will just make a point by putting Mac on the bench.
Jaguars - The Jaguars make the AFC Championship
I think the Jaguars will make the AFC Championship, and I will stand by it until the end of the season. Ridley will be top 10, and Trevor Lawrence will be top 5. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jaguars went all the way this year.
Tennessee- Will Levis is the starter by Week 10
For the Titans, I think Levis will start by Week 10. Tannehill will not play well, and by Week 10, his time in Tennessee will be over. It will be time for Levis to start and show his true potential.
Colts- Jonathon Taylor is traded mid-season
For the Colts, I think JT will be traded mid-season. A team that is trying to make a playoff push and is struggling in the running game will be willing to pay for him. I think a mid-season trade would work for the Colts and the team trading for him.
Texans - Tank Dell is the WR1 by the end of the year
For the Texans, I think Tank Dell will be the WR1 by the end of the year. He made some great catches in preseason, and will only get better as the season goes on. I expect him to be the clear WR1 by the end of the year.
