Three Trades that Need to Happen Before the 2023 NFL Trade Deadline

This season has not gone like I anticipated. At all. The Bengals are doing bad, the Jags are doing bad, the Vikings are doing bad, and even the Broncos are doing bad. On the other hand, there are also some teams that have surprised me. The Colts, Texans, and Dolphins have all done way better than I had projected. Injuries have also crushed teams, Aaron Rodgers and Justin Jefferson being at the top of the list. For these teams to get back on track, it’s vital to see some trades happen before the deadline. Here are three trades that need to happen before the NFL trade deadline.

1.Kirk Cousins to the New York Jets

The first trade is Kirk Cousins to the Jets. Honestly, this would be a good trade for both teams. The Minnesota Vikings need to start a rebuild, and it starts with trading Cousins. If they can secure a second or third-round draft pick for him, it would 100% be worth it. On the Jets side, this could honestly make them contenders. With the right tools, Kirk Cousins has the potential to be elite. If he can get the Jets’ offense to consistently get points, this team will be scary.

2. Derrick Henry to the Baltimore Ravens

My second trade involves sending Derrick Henry to the Baltimore Ravens. This would honestly shake up the AFC. This would make them the clear winner in the AFC North, and they would be considered serious contenders. Let me make this clear-Derrick Henry is NOT washed. If you put him on a team with other weapons besides himself, he will thrive. Henry is a perfect fit in Baltimore, and it would help take the workload off of Lamar.

3. Chase Young to the Seattle Seahawks

Chase Young

The final trade is moving Chase Young to the Seattle Seahawks. The Washington Commanders are good, but they are nowhere near to being contenders. A lot of things need to happen for them to be even in the conversation. On the Seahawks side of things, they are honestly just one big defensive playmaker away from being the best team in the NFC. Their run defense has been solid, but Chase Young gives them that elite talent they need to be a top 5-7 defense. If they can get Young at a reasonable price, they are my pick to win the NFC.
