Cornerback is one of the toughest postions to play, especially in the NFL. You need speed, agility, physicality, and anticipation. Very few people are able to play and be successful at this position. So, who are the top 10 Cornerbacks in the NFL? Here is my list.
10. James Bradberry
At number 10, I have James Bradberry. He has been a consistent lock down corner for many years, and is still very productive despite being 29. Last year was arguably his best season in his whole career, and I would expect nothing less for the 2023-2024 season.
9. Tariq Woolen
At number 9, I have Tariq Woolen. Coming into the NFL as a 5th round pick out of UTSA, nobody expected much of him. Despite this, he had a phenomenal season and earned a spot in the Pro Bowl. He will only be getting better from now on, and we should see him higher on this list next year.
8. Trevon Diggs
At number 8, I have Trevon Diggs. I would have Diggs much higher, but he's just not consistent enough. There are some games where he just completely takes over, and others where he is getting torched. Once he gets more consistent, he will move up the board.
7. Denzel Ward
At 7, I have Denzel Ward. Denzel Ward is not talked about enough. Yes, he had a bad 2022 season. But, he is due for a bounce back year. He was a monster in 2021 and I just have a feeling he will fly up these rankings in 2023.
6. Darius Slay
At number 6, I have none other than Darius Slay. Despite being 32, Slay has been one of the best cornerbacks in the league for multiple years. He is still able to make big impact plays and keep up with the fastest wide receivers in the league. I would expect nothing less from him in 2023.
5. Jaycee Horn
At number 5, I have Jaycee Horn. Jaycee Horn is the most underrated CB in the league. Everyone overlooks him due to the player that was drafted right after him. Horn had a phenomenal season last year, and was snubbed from the Pro Bowl. Don't be surprised if he is ranked even higher next year.
4. Jalen Ramsey
At number 4, I have Jalen Ramsey. Jalen Ramsey had a bit of a down year last season, but he is still more than elite. His success was overshadowed by how bad the team did last year. I expect him to bounce back in 2023 and have a great season.
3. Jaire Alexander
At number 3, I have Jaire Alexander. I really have nothing bad to say about him. He has been so good and consistent for the past few years. Leaving him out of the Top 5 would be a crime.
2. Sauce Gardner
At number 2, I have Sauce Gardner. Now, I know. This might surprise some people. Everyone has him as the consensus #1. Not me. I just dont feel right putting him at 1 after only 1 season. If he repeats his performance next year, he could easily take the #1 spot.
1. Pat Surtain II
Now, at Number 1, have Pat Surtain. He has been someone you can rely on everyone week for multiple years. He has locked down some of the best WR's in the league, even holding some to zero catches. Honestly, catching a pass on Surtain may be one of the toughest tasks in the league right now.
